This Dominion expansion contains 400 cards, including 40 new kingdom card decks. Among them are many money and resource cards that grant you various types of loot. Events give you extra choices when buying cards, and traits affect entire kingdom card decks.
Please note: Dominion: Plunder is an expansion and can only be played in combination with a standalone version of Dominion.
Who plays Dominion: Plunder?
Have you been playing Dominion for a while and fancy trying something new? Then Plunder is a good choice. The new cards and rules ensure you’ll rediscover Dominion all over again! Not familiar with Dominion yet? Then start with the base game, as you’ll need it to play this expansion. But of course, you can also pick up both the base game and Plunder straight away!
How do you play Dominion: Plunder?
In Dominion, you try to build a deck that ultimately contains the most victory points. Each turn, you draw cards from your draw pile, which you use to play your turn. If your draw pile is empty, you shuffle your discard pile – which contains played and new cards – and use that as your new draw pile. Action cards allow you to perform various actions, and money cards let you buy new cards. Victory cards do nothing, so you don’t really want them, but ultimately they determine who wins at the end!
Dominion: Plunder introduces 3 new rules. There is a face-down loot deck, from which a player may draw 1 card if a kingdom card permits it. From the event deck, players use 0, 1 or 2 cards. These lie face-up on the table and can be activated instead of buying a card. Finally, the game includes trait cards. You use 0 or 1 of these cards per game. You attach a trait card to any deck. All cards from that deck have the relevant trait for the entire game.
There are now countless Dominion expansions on the market. Each expansion has its own theme and introduces new kingdom cards, rules, currencies and different types of cards. If, after playing Dominion: Plunder, you’re craving even more variety, try another expansion, and then another... All Dominion products can be combined with one another. You can also play Dominion with six players, but you’ll need two standalone versions of Dominion!
